Deep Tissue is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as a stiff neck, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.
Trigger Point Therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body.
The term Swedish Massage refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and using strokes that assist blood flow returning to the heart.
Hand selected stones from the North West coast are heated in water, and used to relax muscles for a more effective release. Hot Stones simply add to the benefit of massage. I use the stones during massage to bring healing warmth to joints and ligaments, as well as to soothe fatigued and tense muscles.
Reiki is a method of natural healing based on the application of Universal Life Force Energy. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.

“I specialize in deep tissue massage delivered with a compassionate touch. I address the body with regard to structural alignment and posture, fascial restrictions, range of motion, and lifestyle habits. Through client education, I have found the healing process to be faster and the client more empowered, when taking an active role in his or her own healing.”

“Deep tissue massage is not always a full body massage. Deep Tissue Massage is used to release chronic patterns of muscular tension using slow strokes, direct pressure, or friction on a focused problem area. The movements are directed across the grain of the muscles (cross-fiber) using the fingers, thumbs, or elbows. This is applied with greater pressure and at deeper layers of the muscle than Swedish Massage. "Deep" doesn't necessarily mean "hard." With proper technique, muscles deep in the body can be reached with a minimum amount of pressure.”
